Who we are
"DepositBack", "we", and "us" means DepositBack, the publisher of The Security Deposit Recovery Kit, operating from Ontario, Canada.
What the kit is — and isn't
DepositBack is an educational publisher, not a law firm, and nothing we sell is legal advice. Laws change — verify your state's current statute before relying on it. For complex situations, consult a licensed attorney or local tenants' union.
The kit is educational templates, checklists, and statute citations. Buying or using it doesn't create an attorney–client relationship, and no outcome is guaranteed — landlords, courts, and facts vary.
Your license
Your purchase buys a personal, single-purchaser license. You may:
- download and keep the PDF on your own devices, and
- fill in, adapt, print, and send the letters and worksheets for your own tenancy matters — as many times as you need.
You may not resell, republish, redistribute, or share the kit itself — that includes posting the PDF online or passing copies around.
Delivery
The kit is delivered instantly as a digital download — on the order confirmation screen and by email. Details in our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
Refunds
30-day money-back guarantee: one email, refund to your original payment method, no hoops — exactly as described in our Refund Policy.
No warranty; limitation of liability
The kit is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent the law allows, DepositBack's total liability for any claim connected to the kit or this store is capped at the amount you paid us, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the outcome of any dispute with your landlord.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and disputes belong to the courts of Ontario — after you've emailed us first, because almost everything is fixable in one email.
Changes
If we update these terms, the new version applies from the date it's posted here. The version in force when you bought the kit governs your purchase.
